Video formats allowed?

When I film a lesson that I am teaching. Is there a specific video format that I have to use to upload into a Chalkboard?

DigitalChalk supports most video and audio formats. Here is a link to our knowledgebase list of supported formats.

In addition to the video formats in the list above, you can upload audio-only content in the MP3 format and use it in a chalkboard. DigitalChalk can also turn video content into audio-only content if that is what you need.

DigitalChalk currently supports the following video formats; .3GP, .AVI, .DIVX, .DV, .FLV, .MOV, .M4V, .MP4, .MPEG, .MPG, .RAM, .RM, .RMM, .RMVB, .RV, .SWF, .WMV video files.

The maximum file size that can be uploaded is 500MB.

Each Chalkbaord can have up to 1 hour of Audio/Video.

This is great that DC supports all these formats. That said, what is the ideal format to use. We have just had some material professionally recorded and we can go a few ways with now. Please advise.

The two standard formats that I would recommend would be .WMV or .M4V. The DigitalChalk system actually converts the video to .FLV so if you have the ability to do FLV that's going to be even better. The thing to make sure you do is export the video in the best resolution for the size chalkboard you want to use. I normally export at 640x480 at 30FPS and a resolution of 1.5meg bits per second.
