DOT Designated Employer Representative
Why It’s Important
Ensuring compliance is ultimately the employer’s responsibility. This course will give program managers and DERs clear instructions for the role in the testing process, including how to handle challenging drug testing-related issues. The course will also provide practical advice to address the most common mistakes employers make in managing compliance.
If you are responsible for handling any component of a DOT-mandated drug testing program, then as the Designated Employer Representative (DER), you have an opportunity to:
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of a DER for the Company.
- Learn how to handle unique or unusual situations (e.g., “shy bladder”).
- Ensure compliance with DOT drug and alcohol testing rules and regulations.
- Implement best practices in testing management.
