How to clear your browser cache in Edge, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome

Before you clear cache (delete your browsing history) in your browser, click Sign Out (in the upper right corner of your DigitalChalk window) to log out of DigitalChalk.  After you clear your browser cache, be sure to close the browser and then reopen a new session before you log back into DigitalChalk.

Edge 1.0 and above:

  1. Click the three horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the browser.
  2. Click “Settings”.
  3. On the left hand navigation menu click “Privacy, search, and services”.  (If you do not see the left hand menu, you may need to click on the stacked three horizontal bars in the upper left corner.)
  4. Where in says “Clear browsing data” Click the button that says Choose what to clear”.
  5. From the dropdown menu, select “All time”.
  6. Make sure “Cached images and files” is selected, and nothing else.
  7. Click “Clear now”.

Firefox 3.5 and above:

  1. Click “Tools” menu.
  2. Click “Clear Recent History”.
  3. Beside “Time range to clear”, click “Everything”.
  4. Click “Clear Now”.

Firefox 1.5 / 2.0 / 3.0:

  1. Click “Tools” menu.
  2. Click “Options”.
  3. Click “Privacy Tab”.
  4. Click “Settings” in the Private Data section.
  5. Select what you would like to clear.
  6. Click “OK”.
  7. Click “Clear Now”.

Firefox MAC:

  1. Click the Firefox menu and select Preferences.
  2. Click the Advanced icon and click the Network tab.
  3. Click Clear Now under the Cache section.
  4. Click the X in the top left corner to close the Advanced window.
  5. Exit and start the browser again.

Safari for Mac OSX:

  1. Click the Safari menu.
  2. Click “Empty Cache”.
  3. Click “Empty”.

Safari for Windows:

  1. Click the “Edit” menu.
  2. Click “Empty Cache”.
  3. Click “Empty”.

Google Chrome for Windows:

  1. Click the Chrome settings menu on the browser toolbar.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Select Clear browsing data.
  4. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove (Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data).
  5. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
  6. Click Clear browsing data.

Google Chrome for MAC:

  1. Click on Chrome (top left).
  2. Click Clear Browsing Data.
  3. In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove (Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data).
  4. Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete. Select beginning of time to delete everything.
  5. Click Clear browsing data.
